Classic bikes, Classique jersey

Stuart Weir from Melbourne, Australia sent us this great photo and story about a recent days riding with his friend Mark. Brillant thanks Stuart. You should also check out Stuart's blog over at Torosvecchi. There's some cool photos and information on their fundraising activities. Hi Paul. I've enclosed some shots taken last Saturday from my riding group blog of a ride I did with a good friend who was over from Auckland for a visit to us here in Melbourne for the weekend. His visit coincided with spectacular late autumn weather, so we headed out in the afternoon to do one of our local hill rides in the Dandenongs – one of the nearest decent hill rides we can get to from the central city. While the ride out is along a busy 4 lane road with plenty of rollers all the way out and back, the climbing as you get up into the foothills is terrific – not unlike the terrain you have in the Waitakeres – 20 minutes of climbing through gumforest with glimpses of the city off in the distance and plenty of technical descents off the ridges. If anyone comes to Melbourne for riding, the Dandenongs and the Kinglake area should be on their destination list. It was good to get a carbon fanatic out with me on a couple of my classic steel roadbikes – Shamal equipped Casati and Merckx corsa – nice color match for my new Solo kit!.
