Hundred Cols Tour
05-10-09
Klaas Moll from Doetinchem in the Netherlands sent us this fantastic photo. He's going for a ride. A very long, very hilly ride… Here's how he describes it: Just got off the cycle bus from Holland into the pyrenees. The Marie Blanque was the first col I had to climb on my trip, the Hundred Cols Tour a cycle trip of about 4000 km over all the big mountains of France. At the foot of the col it was dry and sunny but during the climb it started raining cats and dogs. The Marie Blanque is a 'beast' starting at 3-4% – so you think 'Oh, that's ok but it gets steeper and steeper and is 9-10% the final 4 km. Good to be on top – the first in a row. Thanks to my Veerhaven jersey (and my length) everybody could tell where I come from. Well done Klaas. A Solo T-shirt will be waiting for you on your return.
